CSUB Battles 2 Nationally Ranked Foes in Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. – Facing a pair of nationally-ranked foes on Day 1 of the Arizona Invitational, the CSU Bakersfield beach volleyball battled hard in a pair of losses. The Roadrunners took one team point in a 4-1 loss against No. 7 Grand Canyon before falling to No. 17 Arizona, 5-0.

"Even though the scores didn't show it, we got a little better today as a team, especially from the first match to the second," said Cesar Benatti, Bakersfield's Head Coach. "GCU and Arizona are great teams and playing them requires consistency and being a little better in every aspect of the game, which is something I've been talking about. We will use that mentality tomorrow: get a little bit better and a little more consistent with these aspects."
