Big West Championship Brewing for Women's Hoops

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The big moment has arrived. Four wins in four days. That is the game plan for CSU Bakersfield women's basketball who has sights on winning the 2022 Hercules Tires Big West Championship, presented by The Hawaiian Islands.

The Roadrunners are headed to the brand-new Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nev. this week to battle the rest of the Big West, Mar. 8-12. CSUB's first-round matchup features the `Runners, the No. 9 seed, taking on the eighth-seeded CSUN Matadors on Tuesday, Mar. 8.

CSUB's first obstacle in front of cutting down the nets in Henderson is CSUN, a team the `Runners lead in the all-time series, 6-3, dating back to 2007. The Matadors bested the `Runners last month, 53-52, so Tuesday's postseason game should prove to be a dog fight with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.

After defeating CSUB (4-19, 3-11 Big West) on their home floor Feb. 12, CSUN (9-18, 5-12 Big West) closed out the last six regular season contests, 1-5. The Matadors look to duo of Tess Amundsen and Jordan Jackson lead its offense.

Tuesday's opening-round contest is scheduled for 12 p.m. (PT) tipoff at the Dollar Loan Center. All-Session tickers are available at GoRunners.com/Tickets and more information regarding the Big West Championships is available on the Championship Central page on BigWest.org.
