`Runners Close Regular Season at UCSD, UC Irvine

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield women's basketball closes the regular season on the road this week with Big West games at UC San Diego on Thursday night and UC Irvine Saturday afternoon. The Roadrunners have won two of their last five contests and are looking to continue to build confidence and momentum ahead of the conference tournament next week.

Bakersfield (4-17, 3-9 Big West) won its second-straight game against Cal Poly before losing to conference leader Hawai'i. Jayden Eggleston continues to lead the `Runners in scoring and rebounding averaging 15.7 and 6.4, respectively. Vanessa Austin (10.4 ppg, 5.5 rpg) and Andie Easley (10.1 ppg, 3.6 rpg) are second and third on the team in points and boards.

CSUB, who currently sits ninth, has an opportunity to climb an extra two spots in league standings in the event the `Runners win out while CSUN (5-10 Big West) and Cal State Fullerton (5-10 Big West) pick up at least one loss this weekend.

UC San Diego (11-14, 8-8 Big West) boasts one of the best home records (8-3) in the league. The Tritons are coming of a road win at Cal State Fullerton and will enjoy the comforts of home in their final pair of games this season.

The Roadrunners lead in the all-time series, 3-2. Last time out, UCSD escaped with a five-point, 64-59, win over CSUB in the Icardo Center on Jan. 29.

UC Irvine (17-10, 12-4 Big West) is riding a three-game win streak into the final week of Big West regular season games and ranks second in conference win-loss-percentage. The Anteaters went 2-0 last weekend at Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State and will attempt to finish with the best league record by the end of this week.
Against UCI, Bakersfield leads in the all-time series with the Anteaters, 12-6. The Roadrunners played Irvine tight earlier this season but fell at home, 73-81.

Head coach Greg McCall (2011-present) is one game away from clinching his 150th career win – all won at CSUB.
