D'Arcy 17th in 100 Butterfly at NCAA Championships

Atlanta, Ga. -- Autumn D'Arcy set a new CSU Bakersfield record and placed 17th in the 100 Butterfly during morning preliminaries on the second day of the NCAA Swimming Championships at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga. D'Arcy finished with a time of 51.80, missing qualification for tonight's finals by just one-hundredth of a second.

"Autumn swam perfectly this morning and posted an amazing time," said CSUB Director of Swimming Chris Hansen. "Unfortunately, she'll just miss making it back tonight, but a new school record and the 17th-fastest time in the country isn't too bad. We'll take it and look ahead to the 200 Fly tomorrow!"

D'Arcy re-set her existing school record and personal best time by shaving more than three-tenths of a second off of her qualifying time of 52.13. She also holds CSUB school records in the 200 Butterfly, the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Backstroke.

She'll swim the 200 Butterfly in tomorrow's morning prelims, after qualifying with an NCAA B-Cut of 1:57.60 set at the MPSF Championship meet last month.
