Rich Closes Cliff Keen with Upset, 7th-Place Finish

LAS VEGAS – Shaking off an overtime loss to start the day, Chance Rich rebounded to close the Cliff Keen Invitational with a huge, upset victory on Saturday. Rich earned a seventh-place finish at one of the toughest tournaments in the country by downing the seventh-ranked wrestler in the country.

Notables
  • In his first match of the day, Rich got an escape point with 30 seconds remaining to go ahead of No. 32 Jason Shaner (Oregon State), 6-5, but a last-second stalling call against him sent the two wrestlers to overtime tied 6-6. Shaner got a takedown in sudden victory to earn an 8-6 win.
