Stockdale Infielder Kayelin Lebo Inks with CSUB

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Bakersfield native and Stockdale High School senior infielder Kayelin Lebo signed her National Letter of Intent with Cal State Bakersfield. Lebo will play her final season with the Mustangs in 2023; she also competes for the BSC Briggs Bengals 18U team, one of the elite club softball programs in the state of California.

She is the first official Roadrunner Softball signee under new head coach Daniel Sperl.

"Kayelin is an excellent defender at first base, capable of raising the level of play for an entire infield," Sperl explained. "She continues to come into her own at the plate and should hit for average and power in the Big West. Kayelin has competed at the highest level of club softball with the Bengals organization and, as a result, will come to CSUB polished and ready to make an impact on our growing program."

Lebo is a career .338 hitter, with a .391 on-base percentage, a .424 slugging percentage, 12 doubles and 32 runs batted in over 52 games played for Stockdale, including a .467 average as a sophomore during the 2020-21 campaign.

As a junior, Lebo batted .316 with 17 RBI and 12 runs scored, leading the Mustangs to a 20-10 overall record and an appearance in the 2022 CIF Central Section semifinals. For her efforts she was honored as a BVarsity Honorable Mention selection for the second-straight season.

Lebo has helped the Bengals to consecutive berths at PGF Nationals in Huntington Beach, Calif.

"I am so thrilled to continue playing softball at the next level," Lebo said. "I have always seen myself in blue and gold, and I cannot wait to represent the Bakersfield community!"

A 5-6, right-handed hitter, Kayelin is the daughter of Zathheba and Brittany Lebo and will join the 'Runners ahead of the 2023-24 season. She plans to major in Kinesiology at CSUB and pursue a career as a physical therapist.
