CSUB Returns Home For UCSB, CSUN Matches

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield volleyball team is in the middle of a long stretch of The Big West slate that features eight of ten matches on the road. Fortunately, the Roadrunners get to play in their home gym this weekend as a pair of league challengers come to the Icardo Center.

`Runner Notes

Bakersfield is looking to snap a six-match skid with three of those losses coming in five sets.
Senior Emma Erteltova has averaged 0.94 blocks per set over the last six matches.

Scouting the Gauchos

UC Santa Barbara (14-8, 10-2) is currently second in The Big West standings.
The Gauchos have won five of their last six matches, including four sweeps in that span.
UCSB leads the league in blocks (2.7 per set) with Deni Wilson leading the way at 104 totla blocks on the year.
The Gauchos have a 4-1 edge in the all-time series against the `Runners.
Earlier this season, UCSB swept CSUB in Santa Barbara.

Scouting the Matadors

CSUN (7-17, 2-10) is tied with CSUB in The Big West table.
The Matadors are one a five-match losing streak.
CSUN features a well-rounded offense with five Matadors averaging at least 1.6 kills per set.
CSUN owns a 33-9 advantage in the all-time series against CSUB.
The first time around The Big West slate, CSUN swept the `Runners in Northridge.
