Four `Runners Post Medal-Match Finishes at Home Open

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Hosting the 2022 Roadrunner Open in its own Icardo Center, the Cal State Bakersfield wrestling team posted a handful of strong performances against one of the strongest fields in the Open's history. The highlight of the day for CSUB was a second-place finish for Angelo Martinoni.

Notables
  • Competing in the stacked 141-pound weight class, Martinoni went 4-1 on the way to a runner-up placing. The redshirt junior's only loss of the day came in the Championship match against No. 20 Cleveland Belton (Oregon State).
  • Eddies Flores posted a third-place effort in the 125-pound weight class.
  • Albert Urias finished fourth at 174 while Isaac Salas was fifth in the tough 141-pound bracket.
