BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield's Athletics Annual Fund Coordinator, Jesse Palomera, has been selected to attend the 2022-23 LEARFIELD EDGE (Empowering Diversity Growth & Equity) Academy in partnership with the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA). Palomera is currently a member of the MOAA.
Palomera said, "MOAA is instrumental in helping minorities in intercollegiate athletics to enhance our knowledge and experience in our industry."
Palomera is one of sixteen individuals from various organizations and collegiate institutions to be a part of the Academy with virtual and in-person sessions beginning Nov. 8. The Academy aims to foster minority growth and development in the collegiate multimedia, technology systems, and sponsorship sector.
"It's an honor to be selected amongst the other 15 participants to expand my knowledge of the industry to better serve our CSUB student-athletes and the campus community. I want to thank MOAA and Learfield for the opportunity to participate in this academy."
Palomera assists in overseeing and operating the Roadrunner Scholarship Fund for CSUB Athletics.
RSF is the fundraising arm of CSUB Athletics, by providing +300Â student-athletes with scholarships and fundraise for facilities capital projects, and program enhancements. For the first time ever, the RSF raised over $1 million for scholarships during the 2021-22 fiscal year.Â
