CSUB Continues Road Stint at LBSU, Fullerton

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners will conclude their four-match road stint with a pair of Big West contests this weekend. Head Coach Giovana Melo will lead her squad into the second-half of league play, facing off against their Big West foes for the second time.

Bakersfield is on a four-match losing streak, but three of those closely-contested matches went all the way to the fifth set.

Scouting the Beach

Long Beach State has a 12-6 record (7-3 BW) and the Beach are on a six-match winning streak.
Last weekend, the Beach won a pair of road matches, outlasting UC Riverside in five sets before besting UC Davis in a four-setter.
Outside hitter Morgan Chacon is tied for The Big West lead with 3.74 kills per set on the year.
The Beach have a 4-2 edge in the all-time series against the `Runners.
Earlier this season, LBSU swept CSUB in the Icardo Center.

Scouting the Titans

Cal State Fullerton will welcome CSUB to Orange County with an 11-7 record (5-5 BW).
The Titans snapped a three-match skid with a pair of five-set victories last week on the road at UC Davis and UC Riverside.
The Titans have five student-athletes who average at least 2.1 kills per set.
Cal State Fullerton owns a 4-3 advantage in the all-time series against CSUB.
On Opening Day of Big West play this season, Cal State Fullerton swept CSUB in Bakersfield.
