CSUB Preparing for Blue-Gold Game Presented by Bakersfield Hyundai

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The 2022-23 basketball season is right around the corner as the Cal State Bakersfield men's and women's basketball teams finish preparations for their third year in The Big West. On Tuesday, Oct. 25, Roadrunner fans are welcomed back to the Icardo Center for the annual Blue-Gold Game, presented by Bakersfield Hyundai, set to begin at 7 p.m. (PT).

CSUB Athletics is excited to host this event without restrictive safety protocols for the first time since October of 2019. No proof of vaccination or negative test will be required at this time, and fans are also able to enjoy concessions inside once again! Per campus policies, face masks are strongly encouraged but not recommended.

The `Runner men's and women's basketball teams look forward to introducing their 2022-23 rosters with an evening filled with dazzling dunks, sharpshooting, high-caliber basketball action, and a night of pure entertainment for fans!

Student Prizes and Activities

CSUB students are invited to join us on the Harvey L. Hall Family Plaza at 6 p.m. for a Party in the Plaza! Students will enjoy music, games, and snacks prior to the event beginning at 7 p.m.

New to the Blue-Gold Scrimmage this year will be student involvement in the teams' three-point shooting contests. Students should sign up for a chance to be represented by one the `Runner basketball players. If your player wins, you win. Prizes are a pair of Dre Beats and a pair of Under Armour shoes!

Lastly, CSUB students are encouraged to help bring the energy in the Icardo Center while meeting the teams up close and personal. Come on down and be part of the Student Fan Tunnel; check the CSUB Athletics social media accounts for more information.

Let's Give Away a Car

Back once again as a generous sponsor of the Blue-Gold Scrimmage, Bakersfield Hyundai will be offering fans an opportunity to win a brand-new car! A tough golf challenge is scheduled during the Scrimmage and one big winner could have a shiny Hyundai Santa Cruz to park in their garage. Eligible contestants over the age of 18 will be selected randomly and they must be present to win.

Come on out to the Icardo Center on Tuesday night, Oct. 25. Admission is free for all fans and the doors will open at 6:50 p.m. for the public with our event kicking off shortly after the hour.
