Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

CSUB Pushes 7-0 Hawai'i to 5th Set

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – For the second-straight contest, the Cal State Bakersfield volleyball team played an extremely competitive match against one of The Big West's top teams. On Friday night in the Icardo Center, the Roadrunners (5-15, 2-6 BW) fell just short in a five-set match against Hawai'i (10-5, 7-0 BW).

Quotes from Head Coach Giovana Melo
  • "In both fifth sets we played this week, I feel like we waited for things to happen instead of being the team that we were in the other sets, the team that made things happen."
  • "We are continuously getting better. Earlier this year, it was night and day compared to how we are playing now…Our goal is to be at the top of the conference, so I think battling with the best teams in the conference is giving us opportunities to feel like we can be there."
