CSUB Opens Big West Road Swing at UCSD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Three road matches lie ahead of CSU Bakersfield women's soccer, beginning with UC San Diego on Thursday. CSUB has been most successful away from home as UCSD is looking for its first home win.

On Sunday, the Roadrunners will enjoy a scheduled bye.

UC San Diego leads the all-time series 1-0-1. The last time CSUB and UCSD met in 2006, the Roadrunners and Tritons were both DII programs. Fifteen seasons later and the pair reunite as the newest members in the Big West.

UCSD earned its first conference win following a clean sheet at Irvine. Sophomore forward Kennedy Carter netted the game-winner with her team-leading fifth goal of the season.

Freshman forward Jamie Ingrassia is the Roadrunners top goal scorer this season, canning an equalizer against Boise State and the game-winner at Idaho State to close non-conference.

Sophomore midfielders Chelsee Duran and Dome Rodriguez have started in all 10 appearances. Duran currently rides a 30-game starters streak that dates to her 2019 freshman season.

The Tritons will livestream the league contest on ESPN+ with first kick scheduled for 6 p.m. Admission is free but UCSD requires all fans 6+ to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within 48 hours of the match for entry.

CSUB is on the road for two more games following UC San Diego, with stops at Cal Poly (10/7) and UC Santa Barbara (10/10).
