Women's Basketball Sees Final Road Series, UC San Diego

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield women's basketball prepares for a pair of road games on Friday and Saturday with fellow Big West newcomer UC San Diego. The Roadrunners and Tritons contests will be recorded as conference games although UCSD is not eligible for postseason as they're in the NCAA Division II to I transition process.

Both games are scheduled to start at 5 PM and broadcast live ESPN.com/watch or the ESPN app.

CSUB is coming off a series split with UC Irvine who was unbeaten in league play before the Roadrunners handed them an eight-point loss on Friday. The Roadrunners are currently tied for third most conference wins (5) behind UC Irvine and conference leader Long Beach State.

UC San Diego has had their fair share of games being canceled this year around COVID issues. The Tritons have played seven games on the season. UCSD split a pair of games with Cal Poly on Jan. 1 and 2, and then edged UC Santa Barbara by two in a single game against the Gauchos on Jan. 16. The Tritons dropped back-to-back series (UC Davis, Long Beach State) then had their games at Hawai'i canceled last weekend.

Series at UC San Diego

This will be just the third and fourth time the Roadrunners and Tritons meet. The all-time series is tied, 1-1. In the Rimac Arena, the `Runners are unbeaten.

In their last meeting in 2007, Bakersfield came away with an eleven-point, 69-58, road win at UC San Diego on 2/16/07.
