BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - On the backend of a four-game homestand, CSU Bakersfield women's basketball closes its non-conference home slate this week with games against Sacramento State and Fresno State. The Roadrunners look to snap a five-game losing skid nearing the final stretch of pre-conference contests.
On Wednesday, the women welcome Sacramento St. (3-6) to the Icardo Center for just the second time dating back to 2010. Tip-off on ESPN+ is set for a 6 p.m. start. Both teams are on losing skids, as Sac State is coming off their third loss on the year.
In their last meeting (11/16/12), the Hornets tallied a 79-72 victory over the Roadrunners taking a 2-1 edge in the series.
CSUB will wrap up the week on the Valley Strong Blue Court with Central Valley rival Fresno State (2-6) on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Bulldogs, also on a five-game skid, eagerly wait for the weekend showdown coming off a 69-81 loss at Saint Mary's (CA) last Saturday.
Bakersfield tallied an 81-69 win over Fresno State last season at Save Mart Center and brings its full roster back from the 12-point victory over the Bulldogs. Four Roadrunners finished in double figures behind Lexus Green's team-high 14 points and a double-double (13 pts, 13 reb) from Jayden Eggleston.
Following the pair of home games this week, the women close their non-conference slate on at #20 UCLA on Saturday, Dec. 21.
