D'Arcy Garners MPSF Weekly Award

Bakersfield, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield junior Autumn D'Arcy has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Swimmer of the Week, after winning three individual races in the Roadrunners' victory over Pomona-Pitzer on Oct. 30, at the John S. Hillman Aquatic Center.

"Autumn continues to prove her ability to handle adversity," said CSUB Director of Swimming Chris Hansen. "She has refused to give up, despite all the restrictions and missed pool time of the past year and I am certain this will be her best season yet. All our younger student-athletes at CSUB should look to her as a role model for how she has handled herself and all she has accomplished."

D'Arcy was the 2020 Western Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Year, winning conference titles in the 100 and 200 butterfly events, the 200 IM and the 400 Free Relay that season. In 2019, she captured league championship swims in the 100 Butterfly, the 200 IM and the 800 Free Relay.

The Redlands, Calif., native was a five-time WAC Swimmer of the Week honoree. Her latest honor is Bakersfield's first weekly award since returning to MPSF competition this season.

D'Arcy posted wins in three different disciplines against the Sagehens, finishing first in the 100 Backstroke, the 100 Freestyle and the 100 Butterfly. She also swam the lead-off leg for CSUB's runner-up 400 Freestyle Relay team.

Her 100 Backstroke time of 55.77 matched the school record, which she now shares with teammate and classmate Tabea Mose.

In the 100 Butterfly, D'Arcy swam a 54.49 to clock the fastest time in the MPSF this season.

Her winning time in the 100 Freestyle was 51.28, while her relay split checked in at 51.71.

With five wins this season, D'Arcy now boasts 51 individual victories over two-plus seasons in Bakersfield, leaving her just nine shy of the school's Division I record, currently held by Paola Hernandez.

D'Arcy already posts two of the program's top-three winningest Division I seasons, with 20 victories in 2018-19 and a school-record 26 in 2019-20.

D'Arcy and the `Runners will host Pacific this weekend, in a dual meet scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 6 at 1:00 p.m.
