BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - CSU Bakersfield women's basketball will take to the court on Saturday, Nov. 27 when the Roadrunners close a three-game road swing at Santa Clara. Tip is set for 1 p.m. in the Leavey Event Center.
After opening the season with a 111-19 win over Bethesda, Bakersfield is on a two-game skid with losses at Pacific and then #15 Oregon State. Jayden Eggleston (14 pts, 6.3 reb) leads the team in scoring and rebounding through the first three contests while Andie Easley (13.3) and Vanessa Austin (10) are both averaging in double figures.
CSUB (1-2) is gearing up for another tough road test in Santa Clara (3-1) whose one loss on the year is against Big West Conference rival Long Beach State. Bakersfield will look to equalize the all-time series record (3-4) with SCU this weekend in the matinee on Saturday. The last time the Roadrunners played at the Leavey Center was in Head Coach Greg McCall's first season on Nov. 11, 2011 suffering a six-point, 87-93, loss to the Broncos.
Last year, the Broncos won 59-49 in the Icardo Center in front of no fans and without point guard Lexus Green. Austin led all scorers with a career-high 22 points in the contest. Eggleston had the `Runners next highest point total with eight points while Miracle Saxon had a game-high seven rebounds.
Following the game on Saturday, the Roadrunners return home for a four-game home stand beginning with Pepperdine on Tuesday, Nov. 30.
