`Runners to Host Conarroe, Colorado College Monday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield men's basketball team has returned home for a quick stop at the Icardo Center. On Monday, Nov. 22, the Roadrunners will host Colorado College, a squad that is led by former CSUB Associate Head Coach Jeff Conarroe.

When asked about facing off against his long-time assistant coach, CSUB Head Coach Rod Barnes said he is looking forward to seeing his old friend again: "I'm excited for [Conarroe] to be a head coach. We talk often…I think he's done a really good job with this team. They are really talented, but they have a lot of young guys. He's done a really good job of recruiting."

The `Runners (1-2) are returning home after suffering a road loss at Northern Arizona last week. CSUB will look to get back in the win column while also continuing to establish its rotations against the Tigers. Bakersfield will only be home briefly before hitting the road again as the `Runners are scheduled for a Black Friday matchup with Boise State.

Colorado College (1-4) will come to Bakersfield to wrap up a three-game road trip in California. The Tigers fell at Whittier College on Friday before stumbling against California Lutheran on Saturday. CC is looking for its first victory since its season-opening win over Concordia Chicago.

CSUB and CC will play each other for the first time in their all-time series, but the historical connection between these programs goes back around 15 years when Conarroe began working for Barnes. Conarroe was a member of Barnes' coaching staffs from 2007 to 2020, including nine seasons at CSUB. In Bakersfield, the pair led the `Runners to great success, including the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance, the NIT semifinals, four postseason appearances in total, and nearly 150 victories.

Monday's game in the Icardo Center is scheduled for a 7 p.m. (PT) tipoff. Tickets are available to cheer for the `Runners against the Tigers and they can be purchased at the door or ahead of time at GoRunners.com/Tickets. Fans who cannot attend the game in person can watch the `Runners all season long with an ESPN+ subscription. Links to video and audio broadcasts, live stats, tickets, and more are all available at GoRunners.com/mbb.
