`Runners to Host Riverside and Davis this Weekend

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – After posting an unblemished, 4-0 record in a recent homestand, the CSU Bakersfield volleyball team went back out on the road and split a pair of matches last weekend. This week, the Roadrunners are back in the Icardo Center to start another four-match homestand.

"We are so happy to be playing at home in front of our fans again this weekend," said Giovana Melo, Bakersfield's Director of Volleyball. "It should be an exciting weekend for us. Two more battles ahead."

The `Runners are preparing to host UC Riverside on Friday, Nov. 12, before welcoming UC Davis to Bakersfield the follow day. As CSUB continues through the second-half of Big West Conference play, the `Runners are eyeing rematches with both of these teams. Bakersfield earned a pair of road victories against the Highlanders and Aggies in October.

CSUB (15-7, 8-6 BWC) currently sits in fourth place in the Big West standings after the preseason predictions slotted the `Runners ninth of eleven teams. Bakersfield has won five of its last six matches coming into the week.

UCR entered the week with a 6-18 overall record and a 2-12 record in league play. The Highlanders split a pair of home games last week, including a five-set victory over fifth-place UC Irvine.

Davis (10-15, 6-8 BWC) is currently tied with Cal State Fullerton for sixth in the Big West standings. The Aggies won both of their matches last week and have won four of their last five. In that span, Davis has posted three sweeps against their opponents.

Friday's match against Riverside is scheduled for a 5 p.m. (PT) first serve in the Icardo Center. The `Runners and Aggies will kick off their Saturday afternoon match at 4 p.m. Both matches will be live on ESPN+ and links to broadcasts, live stats, tickets, and more can be found at GoRunners.com/Live.

Double Dip Ticket Offer

Volleyball fans will be treated to a special Double Dip ticket deal on Saturday! Fans who come to the Icardo Center and purchase a ticket to Saturday's afternoon volleyball match can claim a free ticket to Saturday night's CSUB men's basketball game (8 p.m. vs. Life Pacific) at the box office.
