Harvey Signs Overseas Contract with SF Damaiense

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Sport Football Damaiense, a professional women's soccer team in Lisbon, Portugal have signed forward Aryana Harvey.

"I am very excited to continue playing post college, and finally begin my dream of playing professionally," Harvey explained. "I worked my whole life for this moment and opportunity. So I can't wait to see all of my hard work pay off."

SF Damaiense plays in the BPI League, an elite Portugal football organization, through next summer. Harvey leaves at the end of this month and is expected to strengthen the teams attack and will wear jersey number four, the number she capped her Roadrunner career in. She is the only American on the squad.

As a senior, Harvey was the cross and through ball expert of the team as she led CSU Bakersfield in assists with six. She added a game-winner on the season in a conference 3-2 victory.

Harvey established and maintained an impressive career at CSUB after transferring in 2017 from Pfeiffer University. She ranks second in assists at Bakersfield when compared to other Division I alum and eighth all-time.

Head coach Sebastian Vecchio has worked with multiple players who have gone on to the next level from previous programs, but Harvey is his first to sign a professional contract while at the helm of a club.

"Ary has worked extremely hard for this," explained Vecchio. "She came to our coaching staff after her junior year and she was convinced that she wanted to be a professional soccer player. Since then, she put the work in to get there."

"Her athleticism and work ethic will make her very successful at the next level and I am looking forward to her development over the next couple of years," added Vecchio.
