GCU on Tap for WAC Finale in the Icardo Saturday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – It has been a wild rollercoaster of a season when looking at Western Athletic Conference standings, as the CSU Bakersfield women's basketball team has been at the top, near the top and in the middle of the WAC at one point during league. One game behind fourth and one ahead of seventh, the Roadrunners welcome second-placed Grand Canyon for the regular season finale on Saturday afternoon.

GCU is on a three-game losing skid, but a win over the `Runners and a pair of losses from conference leader Kansas City would put the Lopes in a draw for the regular season title.

A win for CSUB and losses from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and NM State who both play California Baptist would put the trio in a tie for fourth. Seattle U is also in the conversation having split with the Vaqueros and Aggies earlier in the season and two games behind them.

Bakersfield last met Grand Canyon opening weekend of conference play when the `Runners earned a 59-54 win over the Lopes at GCU Arena. On the game, Vanessa Austin had a team-high eleven points off 5-of-8 shooting and seven rebounds, including five defensive boards.

WAC Tournament seeding won't be clear until after Thursday night and final following Saturday's contests.
