CSUB Hosts CBU for Education Day

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – At the front end of the second half of league games, the CSU Bakersfield women's basketball team sits one game back of Kansas City and Grand Canyon – the WAC's leaders with identical 6-2 records.

On Wednesday morning, Feb. 5, the Roadrunners (13-8, 5-3 WAC) will host California Baptist (10-12, 2-6 WAC) at 11 a.m. as part of Education Day.

CSUB and the Lancers both dabbled in the Big West Conference this non-conference with a pair of common opponents. They shared wins over UC Santa Barbara and losses at UC Riverside.

Bakersfield and CBU's all-time series dates back sixteen seasons ago, but it'll be just the fifth time both teams meet tomorrow. CSUB opened the series with an 89-51 decision at home Nov. 28, 2003 then wouldn't see the Lancers again for the next fourteen seasons before dropping both conference matchups last season.

The all-time series is tied two games apiece after the `Runners earned a road win at CBU earlier in the season.

Tipoff on Wednesday is scheduled for 11 a.m. in the Icardo Center. Seats will be limited as hundreds of local school kids will be bussed to campus for Education Day.

Fans that can't make the early game can watch the game on ESPN or follow the live stats. Viewers links are available on the women's basketball schedule page, here.
