CSUB Visits Pepperdine on Tuesday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield women's basketball returns to action after opening their non-conference slate with a bang, defeating California on the road, 60-52. The Roadrunners look to remain unbeaten in tenth season of head coach Greg McCall. A total of four non-conference games remain with dates and times subject to postponement or cancellation.

CSUB prepares for a pair of upcoming matchups against West Coast Conference schools Pepperdine (12/8) and Santa Clara (12/11). Both teams were picked to finish in the bottom half of the WCC and still await their season openers.

The non-conference schedule concludes in the central valley. The Roadrunners are on the road at Fresno State (12/17) before coming home to host Division II powerhouse Fresno Pacific (12/20), who earned a tenth rank on the DII West Region preseason poll.

Starters
Bakersfield returns 76% of scoring from last year's roster and two starters. Jayden Eggleston was leading scorer on the team and shot 39.9% from the field, good for second-best. Her stellar campaign did not go unnoticed, being named to the league Newcomer Team.

Miracle Saxon is coming off a breakout sophomore season where she led the Roadrunners in rebounds, had ten games with eight or more and recorded a pair of double doubles. She also had 35 steals, tied for third-best on the team.

CSUB boasts seven returners and add four newcomers to the team. The returners include one graduate transfer (Andie Easley), one senior (Vanessa Austin), two redshirt juniors (Eggleston and Jasmin Dixon), two juniors (Saxon and Makenzie Bond), one redshirt sophomore (Tyonna Singleton) and one sophomore (Lexus Green).
