CSUB Heads South to Face CBU Wednesday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – On the heels of opening Western Athletic Conference play with a road win against Grand Canyon, the CSU Bakersfield women's basketball team is preparing for one more game away from the Icardo Center. The Roadrunners will bus down to Riverside, Calif. on Wednesday, Jan. 8, to face California Baptist with the goal of starting league play with a 2-0 record.

Bakersfield (9-5, 1-0 WAC) and CBU (8-8, 0-2 WAC) will meet for just the fourth time in the all-time series. The `Runners won the first-ever meeting back in 2003, but the Lancers swept the season series a year ago.
California Baptist posted an 8-6 non-conference record before opening WAC play with road losses against NM State and UT Rio Grande Valley.

The Lancers and `Runners had a pair of common opponents during their non-conference schedules. Dabbling among the Big West Conference, both teams earned victories against UC Santa Barbara and both took losses against UC Riverside.

Tipoff on Wednesday is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Riverside. Fans can watch Wednesday's game on the WAC Digital Network or follow the live stats. Viewers links are available on the women's basketball schedule page, here.
