Roadrunners Come Up Shy in Stockton

Box Score

STOCKTON, Calif. - Coming off a hard-fought match against a seventh-ranked opponent over the weekend it was no surprise that the CSU Bakersfield men's soccer team brought that same mentality to start this week at Pacific, but the Roadrunners were unable recover from a late second half goal and suffered a road loss on Monday night. Although the Tigers were aggressive in the attacking third, CSUB's defense was able to thwart off any shot attempts at the goal in the first half and keep the match quiet. It wasn't until the 66th minute that Pacific broke through to take a 1-0 advantage.

Bakersfield continued to go toe to toe with the Tigers until the final whistle but were unable find the right touch on the ball for an equalizer. The CSUB efforts were not aided by the fact that a `Runner was sent off on a red card early in the first half.

With the loss, CSUB drops to 1-5 on the year, but each of the team's losses have been by just one goal. The CSU Bakersfield men's soccer team has a dynamic young core that's still finding their way on the pitch one match at a time.
