Swimming and Diving Schedules Released

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield swimming and diving teams have announced their 2019-20 schedule.  The men's team will compete at the John S. Hillman Memorial Aquatic Center on four occasions, while the women's team will compete in Bakersfield five times.

The Roadrunners will open the season at the USC Sprint Meet and the USC Invite on October 4 and 5 and will head to UNLV for a dual the following weekend.  CSUB will make its home debut on October 18 and 19 for the CSUB Sprint Classic and the Roadrunner Invite.

"We are excited to host the Sprint Classic and Roadrunner Invite again this year," said CSUB Director of Swimming Chris Hansen.  "The USC Invite will add the University of Virginia to the lineup.  Swimming top-10 teams like UVA and USC will just make us better."

CSUB will head to the Pepperdine Winter Invite at the end of November in one of the first big meets of the season.  The top `Runners will then head to Atlanta for the Toyota US Open.

"We have a couple of big changes to this year's schedule that I am excited for," said Hansen.  "We will be going to the Pepperdine Winter Invite this year in place of the Vegas Invite, which will allow out top-tier athletes to attend the Toyota US Open in Atlanta."

After the New Year, the women's team will host San Jose State on January 2 and will welcome UC San Diego and Loyola Marymount on January 4.  The men's team will also dual against the Tritons.  Both teams will remain at home on January 11 when they host UC Santa Cruz for Senior Day.  The `Runners close the regular season on January 18 at Fresno Pacific.

The all-important Western Athletic Conference Championships begins on February 26 and continues through February 29.  The National Invitational Championship follows from March 11-March 14 in Cleveland, Ohio and the NCAA Championship begins in Indianapolis on March 25 and ends on March 28.

"Our goal for this schedule is easy: more records, more best times, more WAC Championships, more NCAA and NIC qualifiers," said Hansen.  "This is going to be a fun year."
