BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield wrestling program will host a pair of summer camps this year. The Roadrunner Wrestling Youth Camp will be held on June 21 and June 22, while the Roadrunner Wrestling Competition Camp will take place from July 20-24.
The youth camp is open to sixth graders and below. The two-day camp is designed to engage young wrestlers by having active sessions. Campers can enjoy learning from CSUB coaches and wrestlers, who will be featured as clinicians and counselors. Emphasis will be placed on basic techniques and positioning in all three positions (top, bottom, neutral). There will also be a live wrestling component to each day. Registration is $100 and the times are from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. each day.
The competition camp will feature daily technique and competition sessions as well as an individual tournament on the camp's final day. Head Coach Manny Rivera and Assistant Coaches Luke Smith, Chad Hanke and Efren Ceballos will serve as camp counselors. The camp will take place inside the Icardo Center and is open to grades 7-12. The registration for a commuter is $150, while an overnight registration is $400.
