Last Two Home Games On Tap For CSUB This Weekend

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield's women's basketball team closes its regular season slate this weekend with two final conference games at home. The Roadrunners welcome Seattle University to Icardo Center on Thursday and Utah Valley for Senior Day on Saturday.

Seattle U is riding an eight-game losing streak after falling to California Baptist last week. SU is ninth in league standings having picked up one win in conference over Chicago State. A win would clinch the regular season series vs. the Redhawks and put the Roadrunners one game closer to second seed UTRGV who has one less loss than the `Runners and is on the road at California Baptist on Thursday.

The Wolverines have dropped their last two contests. First at Kansas City two weeks ago then against California Baptist at home last weekend. The game on Saturday could determine playoff seeding depending on how Thursday night matchups around the conference play out.

The last time the Bakersfield saw SU and UVU was conference opening weekend when the Roadrunners clipped the Redhawks but came up short in a fourth quarter comeback in Utah. Alexxus Gilbert had a career-high 27 points in the victory over Seattle U while JJ Johnson recorded her first double-double on the season with 22 points and 13 rebounds.

NM State know they will head to Vegas as the top seed next week after clinching the regular season title for the fifth-straight season. Grand Canyon knows they will be the sixth seed but who will be the third seed and their first round opponent is still to be determined.
