Roadrunners Beat Westcliff, Drop Heartbreaker to North Florida

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield beach volleyball team nearly went 2-0 on Tuesday at the Barnes Beach Volleyball Complex at the Student Rec Center.  CSUB fell to North Florida in heartbreaking 3-2 fashion in which four of the five matches went the full three sets.  The Roadrunners did bounce back strong though, blanking Westcliff 5-0 in the nightcap.

"The first match was a great battle against North Florida," said CSUB Head Coach Cesar Benatti.  "We overcame a lot of difficulties and competed really well.  We fell short, but it was a good match.  In the second match against Westcliff, we started a little slow but we had good rhythm throughout the match and executed our game pretty well.  Overall it was a good, competitive day."
