CSUB Continues Homestand on Tuesday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – After splitting with Marymount California University and CSUN on Saturday at the Barnes Beach Volleyball Complex at the Student Rec Center, the CSU Bakersfield beach volleyball team will welcome North Florida and Westcliff tomorrow.

CSUB is off to a 4-3 start to the season, including a 3-1 mark on their home sand. Playing exclusively at the No. 2 pair, the freshman tandem of Cameron Solberg and Milica Vukobrat have the top record on the squad at 5-2. Brooke Boiseau and Krista Hernandez and Hana Makonova and Sidney Wicks both have 4-3 records. Boiseau and Hernandez played the first six matches at the No. 5 spot before moving up in the lineup to No. 4 against CSUN on Saturday. Makonova and Wicks have played exclusively at the No. 3 spot.

Ally Barber and Rafa Boniacio have a 3-3 record, but Barber paired with Emily Hansen against CSUN at the No. 5 spot in CSUB's last match. At the top spot, Mattison DeGarmo and Briannah Mariner are 3-4.

North Florida received votes in last week's AVCA Coaches' Poll. The Ospreys are 9-7 on the season and are coming off a 2-2 weekend. They lost to Arizona State 3-2 to open the weekend in Tucscon before bouncing back with a 3-2 victory over New Mexico and a 4-1 win over the University of Louisiana-Monroe. North Florida closed the weekend with a 4-1 loss to No. 15 Arizona.

Westcliff is 2-2 in its inaugural season of beach volleyball. The Warriors have yet to play a NCAA Division I opponent this season and hold victories over Arizona Christian and Rio Hondo College.

The Roadrunners will begin the day with a 10:00 a.m. match against North Florida and close it at 2:00 p.m. against Westcliff.
