CSUB Set To Rewrite History At WAC Tournament This Week



BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield's women's basketball team heads to Orleans Arena in Las Vegas this week in search of their first Western Athletic Conference championship after dropping the title game last year by three points.
 
The road to a program-first NCAA berth begins tomorrow in the first round when the third seeded Roadrunners (13-16, 9-7 WAC) take on sixth seed Grand Canyon (7-19, 5-11 WAC) at 8:30 p.m. The winner will advance to the second semifinal matchup on Friday and face either No. 2 UTRGV (16-13, 10-6 WAC) or No. 7 Seattle U (3-26, 3-13 WAC) at 2:30 p.m.
 
The other side of the bracket sees first seed New Mexico State (23-6, 15-1 WAC) and eighth seed Chicago State (2-27, 2-14 WAC) on Wednesday at Noon while the No. 4 seed Kansas City (15-14, 9-7 WAC) and No. 5 seed Utah Valley (14-15, 8-8 WAC) on Wednesday at Noon. The winner of both matchups will advance to the first semifinal game on Friday set a Noon start time. 
 
All first round and semifinal contests will be streamed on ESPN+. The WAC Tournament championship game is slated for a 2 p.m. tip-off on Saturday and will be broadcast on ESPN3.
