Bakersfield Continues Home Stand with Pacific

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – In the midst of a five-game home streak, CSU Bakersfield's women's basketball team continues its home stand on Saturday afternoon when the Roadrunners welcome University of the Pacific to the Icardo Center.

Bakersfield is coming off a three-game win streak after a nine-point win over North Carolina Central on Monday night.

Pacific has enjoyed a fast start to the 2019-20 season as the Tigers sit comfortably with five wins and one loss to sixth/seventh-ranked Oregon State. Pacific has tallied double-digit scoring margins in all but one of its victories this year. With UC Santa Barbara and the `Runners on its docket this week, the Tigers face a pair of California schools for the first time this season.

CSUB is unbeaten against California teams to start 2019-20 with wins over Dominguez Hills, Fresno Pacific and San Jose State. The next four out of five contests for the `Runners are in-state matchups leaving the women with an opportunity to close the non-conference schedule 7-0 against California schools.

The Tigers are led by a trio veterans with junior Brooklyn McDavid at the forefront averaging twenty-one points a game. Valerie Higgins and Sofie Tryggedsson add thirteen and ten points a contest, respectively.

A win over Pacific on Saturday would extend the Roadrunners home streak to six and win streak to four.

CSUB and University of the Pacific tip off at 1 p.m. Fans can watch the game live on ESPN3 or follow the live stats on GoRunners.com. Links are available on the women's basketball schedule page.
