Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

CSUB 5-0 at the Icardo Center

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield's women's basketball team remains undefeated at home after a nine-point win over North Carolina Central on Monday night. With the 80-71 victory, the `Runners extended its win streak to three games and its home streak to five.  History continues to be rewritten as the win marked the first time in two seasons that Bakersfield tallied three consecutive wins in a row. The last time CSUB had extended a win streak past two contests dated back to an eight-game streak in 2017-18.

Bakersfield had a 20-point lead with less than a minute left in the first half after the Roadrunners had held the Eagles to just seven points in the second to stretch the lead. CSUB was outscored by NCCU in the third and fourth quarters, but the `Runners held on for the win.
Vanessa Austin led the `Runners for the second-straight contest with a near perfect game, including six made baskets on six attempts. She added three points from the free throw line off four tries for her team-high 15 points.

Andie Easley had fourteen points and was 10-for-11 from the stripe while Miracle Saxon and Makenzie Bond chipped in ten apiece for the Roadrunners. Easley had a game-high five assists and matched Saxon and Bond's five rebounds as the trio led the `Runners on the glass.

Kieche White of NC Central led all scorers with eighteen points while teammates Paulina Afriyie and Madalyn Anderson had sixteen and fourteen, respectively, to round out the Eagles' double figure scorers.

CSU Bakersfield (5-3) continues its home stand on Saturday, December 7 with Pacific (5-1) for a 2 p.m. tip off with the Tigers.
