`Runners Looking for 4th-Straight Win Against Idaho

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The road swing continues for the CSU Bakersfield men's basketball team as the Roadrunners will head to Moscow, Idaho this weekend. CSUB will go toe-to-toe with the Idaho Vandals on Saturday, Dec. 14, before returning to Bakersfield for its final home game of the calendar year.

"Idaho's coach has done a really good job with their team," said Rod Barnes, Head Coach of the `Runners. "They have played some teams really close. This has been a series that has gone on for a while and every game has been close. We're in need of a win, so, preparation this week needs to be good."

Barnes continued his thoughts to describe the progress of his squad thus far: "I think we're getting better in a lot of areas…As we continue to move forward, I think we'll start winning as we keep getting better. Wins will come and we need them at the right time. A few weeks from now, we'll be playing for the chance to win a regular season championship and hopefully we'll be playing our best basketball at that time."

Bakersfield (4-7) is coming off a road loss against a tough Ole Miss squad last Saturday. After a slow start, the `Runners rallied to trail by just three points at halftime, but a late surge solidified the game for the host Rebels. CSUB was led by a trio of scorers in Taze Moore (17), Czar Perry (16), and Shawn Stith (15). Moore, a native of Southaven, Miss., leads the `Runners in scoring on the season with 12.5 points per game.

Idaho will welcome Bakersfield to Moscow with a well-rested squad as the Vandals will have enjoyed nine days off between contests. The Vandals (3-6) will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak, including a road loss against Western Athletic Conference member Seattle U, 74-55. Senior guard Trevon Allen leads Idaho with 16.9 points per game and he is not afraid to pull the trigger from deep.

The contest in Idaho is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start at Memorial Gym. `Runner fans can follow along live on Pluto.TV or via the PlutoTV app. There will also be a live radio broadcast on 1180 AM/96.1 FM KERN. Links to the live stream, radio broadcast, and live stats are all available on the CSUB men's basketball schedule page.
