BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – On the back of a six-game home streak, CSU Bakersfield's women's basketball team closes its home stand this weekend when the Roadrunners welcome Westcliff University (12/11) and UC Santa Barbara (12/14) to the Icardo Center.
Bakersfield is coming off a four-game win streak after a ten-point win over University of the Pacific on Saturday afternoon. The `Runners join fifth-ranked Oregon State University on the Tigers' short list of losses.
CSUB is unbeaten against California teams to start 2019-20 with wins over Dominguez Hills, Fresno Pacific, San Jose State and Pacific. The next three out of four non-conference contests for the Roadrunners are in-state matchups which gives the women an opportunity to finish 7-0 against non-conference California schools.
Westcliff rides a three-game win streak into the matchup after its five-point victory over UC Merced on Monday night.
UCSB is led by a trio of athletes with junior Danae Miller at the forefront averaging sixteen points a game. Lla Lane and Tal Sahar add fourteen and ten for the Gauchos, respectively.
A third straight undefeated week would extend the `Runners home streak to eight and win streak to six.
Both contests this week are set to tip-off at 2 p.m. Fans can watch the games live on ESPN3 or follow the live stats on GoRunners.com. Links are available on the women's basketball schedule page. For more information on tickets, visit GoRunners.com/tickets.
