CSUB Hosts North Carolina Central on Monday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield's women's basketball team looks to extend its home streak to five games on Monday night when the Roadrunners welcome the North Carolina Central Eagles to the Icardo Center for the first time.

Bakersfield is coming off a pair of victories on the Kern Schools blue floor. CSUB opened the week with a nine-point win against the University of North Texas on Tuesday then tallied a four-point win over San Jose State Friday.

NCCU had a different turnout last week with a pair of losses at the Cal Classic tournament over the weekend. The Eagles suffered a 69-90 loss to host Cal Berkeley on Friday then fell 68-92 to Penn State Saturday.

North Carloina Central hasn't won on the road but boasts three athletes averaging double figures that the Roadrunners will need to handle.

Kieche White leads the Eagles with 14.7 points a game while Anissa Rivera averages a double-double with 11.3 points and rebounds a game. Paulina Afriyie rounds the Eagles key players with 12.8 points a game and tallies the most minutes on the roster.

Bakersfield is in the midst of a six-game home stand with a 2-0 record. A win over North Carolina Central on Monday would extend the Roadrunners home streak to five and win streak to three.

CSUB and NCCU tip off at 7 p.m. Fans can watch the game live on ESPN3 or follow the live stats on GoRunners.com. Links are available on the women's basketball schedule page.
