Washington, Gonzaga (RV) host CSUB this Weekend

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Fans saw glimpses of spectacular basketball on Tuesday, but if CSU Bakersfield's women's basketball team wants continued success this weekend the Roadrunners will need to keep the switch turned on. Bakersfield hits the road and head North to the Canadian border state for matchups with Washington (Nov. 8) and RV Gonzaga (Nov. 10).

Friday night's contest with the UW Huskies is scheduled for 7 p.m. while the game on Sunday at Gonzaga is slated for a 2 p.m. start time.

CSUB opened the 2019-20 season with an 83-74 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills. The win marked the eleventh time the program started a season 1-0. A win over the Huskies on Friday would mark the eighth time Bakersfield has started a season 2-0.

CSUB has never played either team on tap for this weekend. It'll be UW's season opener and while the Zags are coming off a 105-45 win over Warner Pacific University (Ore.) last Saturday. Gonzaga is one of three teams on the `Runners schedule that went to the NCAA Tournament last season and are receiving votes in the first national poll released this week.

After a quick assessment on Tuesday, Head Coach Greg McCall and company are going to have to bring high energy matched with one of their best basketball performances to come out on top through the weekend.
