CSUB Set for Regular Season Opener

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The wait is nearly over as CSU Bakersfield's women's basketball team opens the 2019-20 season on Tuesday, Nov. 5. The Roadrunners are preparing to host Cal State Dominguez Hills tomorrow before a pair of road games over the weekend at Washington and Gonzaga.

The `Runners will tip off the year with intentions of winning their first conference title and advancing to the NCAA Tournament. Bakersfield is led by co-captains, a pair of veterans in Dalis Jones and Vanessa Austin.

CSUB's first game of the season will be against Dominguez Hills, an NCAA Division II program. The Toros represent a good opportunity for Coach McCall and his staff to assess the 2019-20 roster before heading to Washington (Nov. 8) and Gonzaga (Nov. 10).

Bakersfield will enjoy their first 80 minutes on the court on Tuesday, leading into the early portions of a challenging non-conference schedule. Tomorrow's contest is the first in a doubleheader with the men set for 5 p.m.
