Vecchio Adds Four in Early Singing Period



BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield's women's soccer has announced the addition of four athletes to its 2020 roster as the early signing period opened last week and official letters from Alyssa Cleveland, Kayla Edwards, Mia Gangle and Amber Jensen were signed and received.
 
"I am extremely excited to announce the first wave of our incoming class for 2020," said Head Coach Sebastian Vecchio who will enter his third season. "My staff has worked diligently to find, attract, and retain another talented class."

Alyssa Cleveland | Forward | Bakersfield, Calif. | Highland HS
 
Has improved in her first three seasons with the Scots…named Soccer Most Improved as a freshman…honored with 2019 Jockey Club Award and Soccer MVP in her junior season…has been a member of the SVT club team for four years.
 
Kayla Edwards | Center Back, Defensive Midfielder | Bowie, Maryland | Elizabeth Seton HS
 
Selected as team captain for ESHS varsity soccer…led team to first Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship appearance in twenty-four years…named WCAC All-Conference in her last two seasons…helped team reach semifinals in her freshman and junior seasons…was a member of MD United…earned EDP Cup with the U17 team…helped the U18 team advance to regionals.
 
Mia Gangle | Forward, Outside Midfielder | Bakersfield, Calif. | Centennial HS
 
Was a member of the Central California Aztecs…helped travel ball team win Central Coast league championship two seasons in a row…is an active member of the California Scholarship Federation, an organization that recognizes and encourages academic achievement and community service.
 
Amber Jensen | Defender | Fresno, Calif. | Clovis West HS
 
Named MVP and second team All-Conference as a freshman…honored with the CWHS's Coaches Award and her second-straight All-Conference nod in her sophomore season…was named Eagles' Defensive Player of the Year and tabbed a first team All-Conference award…an honor roll recipient for three years.
