CSUB Hits Road to Face UNI Before Hosting Life Pacific

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield men's basketball team will leave the comforts of the Icardo Center for the first time this season as the Roadrunners are headed to Cedar Falls, Iowa. On Wednesday, Nov. 13, CSUB will clash with UNI at the McLeod Center for Bakersfield's first road test of the season before returning home for its annual Education Day matchup with Life Pacific on Friday, Nov. 15.

CSUB (1-1) is coming off a solid start to the season after earning a 50-point win in its regular-season opener and playing a thrilling matchup against South Dakota State. While Bakersfield fell against the Jackrabbits in double overtime, the `Runners put up a strong showing, especially on the offensive end.

Through the first week of the season, CSUB ranks 11th among all NCAA Division I schools with an average of 97.0 points per game. Junior Shawn Stith and redshirt junior Taze Moore have been the go-to scorers for CSUB, each averaging more than 20 points a game. With Head Coach Rod Barnes putting such an emphasis on defense in his career, the `Runners will look to continue scoring but refocus efforts on the defensive end in their next game.

UNI (2-0) opened the season with a pair of victories, defeating Old Dominion at home before knocking off Northern Illinois on the road. Isaiah Brown and AJ Green have been the primary offensive catalysts for the Panthers thus far, both averaging more than ten points per game. Neither of UNI's first two opponents have tallied more than 54 points as the Panthers have held their foes to a 35% field goal percentage this season.

Life Pacific entered the week with a 2-1 record and will visit UC Irvine on Tuesday night before traveling to Bakersfield on Friday. A member of the NAIA's Golden State Athletic Conference, Life Pacific will battle CSUB in front of thousands of Kern County schoolchildren, who will enjoy a campus tour and rooting the `Runners to victory before returning to class.

Wednesday night's matchup in Cedar Falls, Iowa is scheduled for a 7 p.m. (CT) tipoff. The game will be broadcasted live on ESPN+ and on radio via 1230 AM/101.1 FM ESPN. Friday's Education Day game in the Icardo Center will begin at 11 a.m. That contest will also be on ESPN+ and available at the same radio station. Links for live stats, video broadcasts, and radio broadcasts are all available on the CSUB men's basketball schedule page.
