CSUB at Seattle tonight, hosts KC on Saturday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Now with a weekend of WAC match results in for women's soccer, CSU Bakersfield (1-1) sits in a two-way tie for third-place with three conference points. Seattle U and UTRGV are one point ahead of the Roadrunners while California Baptist leads the league with six points.

"It is a vital weekend for us where we get to measure ourselves against the best two teams in the conference," said head coach Sebastian Vecchio.

Bakersfield's shift in its preparation for contests from the top down couldn't have come at a more opportune time, although early in conference play, a win on Thursday (Oct. 10) against Seattle U on their field then to knock off Kansas City at the Main Soccer Field Saturday (Oct. 12) would put CSUB in a good standings position.

It's been two seasons since the Roadrunners went to Seattle, Wash. and were shutout by the Redhawks and the Roos came to town and stole a shutout victory. Bakersfield is winless in the all-time series with both programs and will look to make history this week.

CSUB is led in scoring by junior Eszter Toth who has nine points (4g, 1a) on the season. Sophie Freeman is close behind with three goals and one assist while a trio of underclassmen (Chelsee Duran, Caitlin Goetjen and Jaden Skinner) each have two goals on the year.

Bakersfield's match on Thursday is set for a 7 p.m. start on the road and kick off at 7 p.m. Saturday. Links to live stats and the live streams are available on the CSUB's women's soccer schedule page.
