Outdoor Track & Field Heads To Titan Team Challenge

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield's track and field team will travel to Fullerton, Calif. to compete against host Cal State Fullerton, Cal Poly, UC Davis and Cornell in the Titan Team Challenge Saturday.

The men will be led by freshman standout Corbin Chronister who has four first-place victories so far this year and three additional top 5 finishes. Chronister will compete in the hammer throw, discus and shot put.

Tristan Watson will see action in the 110m hurdles and both relays. Watson has won his last two 110m hurdles races this season and is coming off posting a personal-best time of 14.56 a week ago. Curtis Threlkeld will contest the 800m and anchor the 4x400m relay team, while Alec Benavides and David Sellens III will compete in the javelin and hammer throw, respectively.

The women will be led by Falon Wilson who is coming off two great meets setting personal bests in the 100m hurdles Mar. 17 and in the 100m last weekend. Wilson holds the sixth all-time record in the 100m and the fifth all-time record in the 100m hurdles. The sophomore will also lead off the 4x100m relay squad and compete in the long jump.

Julianne Finch has finished in the top three of every meet this spring and will contest the pole vault this weekend in Fullerton, Calif. Jazmyne Bartee placed eighth in her first high jump competition as a Roadrunner last week and will look to improve on her mark this weekend.

Ariana Mariscal has been racing well this year after missing two years due to injury. The three-time All-WAC performer will race the 800m an anchor the 4x400m relay.
