Flores Opens Career with Bill Musick Title

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Making his career debut on Saturday, CSU Bakersfield freshman wrestler Eddie Flores won three times at the Bill Musick Open to earn the title at the 125-pound weight class.  Fellow freshmen Chance Rich and Albert Urias both claimed second in the 133- and 165-pound classes, respectively.

Flores began the morning with a 10-3 victory over Isaiah Perez of Cerritos College and advanced to the finals with a 5-2 win against Perez's teammate Roland Dominguez.  In the finals, Flores squeaked out a 5-4 decision over Mario Moreno of Fresno City College.

Rich pinned Cerritos' Ricky Bautista to begin his career and picked up a 7-2 win over Kyle Jimenez of Fresno City in the semifinals.  Rich's third and final match went into overtime, but he was unable to come away with the Open title, falling 11-9 to Fresno City's Isaiah Perez.

Urias dominated Josh Bustamante of Cerritos 16-1 in his quarterfinal match and earned a 5-3 decision over Miguel Ruiz of Fresno City in the semifinals.  Urias dropped the championship match 7-4 to Fresno City's Augie Garcia.
