CSUB Returns Home For Final 2017 Push

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—For the first time in two weeks, CSU Bakersfield returns to Hardt Field as the Roadrunners host UC Irvine Tuesday night. Corey Costelloe's pregame show on ESPN 1230 AM/98.1 FM begins at 5:45 with Roadrunner Digital Network (via YouTube.com) coverage getting underway with the first pitch at 6 p.m.

Tuesday's night action kicks off the final stretch of the 2017 CSUB schedule. The Roadrunners are scheduled to play 12 games over an 18-day span with eight of the contests taking place in Bakersfield.

UCI defeated No. 14 Cal State Fullerton 12-4 Sunday to improve to 16-25 on the year. Keston Hirua is ninth in Division I in hitting (.406). He leads the Anteaters in home runs (7), RBI's (32), doubles (18), slugging percentage (.692), and on-base percentage (.545).

Both teams have not named a probable starter for Tuesday's game. CSU Bakersfield broke a 10-game losing streak against UC Irvine Apr. 4 when the 'Runners defeated the Anteaters 14-2. CSUB is now 3-16 lifetime against UCI.

CSU Bakersfield enters this week 11th in Division I in hitting (.315). Ryan Grotjohn begins the week first in Division I in hitting (.417).
