Milobar Opens Canadian Trials With 200 Breast

VICTORIA, B.C. – Senior Dylana Milobar opened the 2017 Canadian Swimming Trials with a time trial swim in the 200-meter breaststroke on Thursday.

“It wasn't her best swim or time,” said Chris Hansen, Director of Swimming for CSU Bakersfield. “She looked a little stiff today. Her two best events are coming up the next two days. It's time to concentrate on the sprint breast.”

Milobar, a native of Kamloops, B.C., swam in the time trial 200-meter breaststroke to open the meet. The senior finished in a time of 2:43.70, her second-best long course mark after posting a swim of 2:36.34 at the Canadian Olympic Trials a year ago. The swim on Thursday was good enough to place Milobar seventh of 14 women in the time trial at the Saanich Commonwealth Place pool.

The next two days will feature two more swims for Milobar including the 50-meter and 100-meter breaststroke races. Check back here for results after each day of competition.
