OMAHA, Neb. -- Due to a forecast calling for freezing conditions throughout the weekend, including likely snow on Saturday, Creighton and CSU Bakersfield have mutually agreed to cancel the Bluejays' home opening baseball series with the Roadrunners.

Slated to begin their three-game series on Friday, March 10 at 6:30 pm, Creighton head coach Ed Servias and CSU Bakersfield interim head coach Jeremy Beard both felt the near freezing conditions forecast for the evening as well as the likelihood of unplayable conditions throughout the weekend would put the student-athletes at both institutions at higher risk for injury.

Given the distance between CSU Bakersfield and Creighton, the games will not be rescheduled. The Roadrunners return to the diamond Mar. 17 when CSUB opens a three-game series at UC Riverside. First pitch on the 17th is 6 p.m.
