BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield women's basketball team will look to extend their winning streak to four and then five in a row with two games this weekend to end non-conference play.

The `Runners will travel to San Luis Obispo for a date against Cal Poly on Friday, Dec. 29, before playing UC Irvine on New Year's Eve at home to wrap up the year of 2017.

CSUB has reeled off three wins in a row to get their record back to .500, including their latest win, a hard fought road victory at Boise State.  Roadrunner senior Aja Williams continues to lead CSUB on both ends of the floor.  Williams leads the team in scoring at almost 13 points a game, second in rebounding (first in defensive rebounds), second in assists and second in steals. 

Cal Poly comes into the game 5-6 on the season and have lost three of their last four overall, including an 89-70 loss to Western Athletic Conference's Utah Valley the last time out.  The Mustangs are led by senior twin sisters Dynn and Lynn Leaupepe and both guards are averaging more than 14 points a game.

UC Irvine (7-6) will come to the Icardo Center on New Year's Eve having a nine day break between games and winners of five of their last six.  The Anteaters played at Seattle U their last time out and defeated `Runners Western Athletic Conference rival 84-79.  UC Irvine plays 10-11, sometimes even 12 players in most games and has nine players averaging five or more points a game.  Jordan Sanders and Andee Ritter are the leading scorers for the Anteaters and are averaging 8.2 points per game.

Tipoff at Cal Poly will be at 7 p.m. on Friday and the game against UC Irvine will be a 1 p.m. start time and the game can be seen on the WAC Digital Network.
