BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield women's basketball team will travel to Boise State in search of their third victory in a row on Wednesday, Dec. 20 with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. MT/ 6 p.m. Bakersfield time.
The Roadrunners just swept a two game home stand with victories over Whittier College and Omaha, and if CSUB can get the win in Boise, they would get their record back to .500.
The Broncos come into the game with a record of 5-4 and 3-2 on their home floor. Boise State has also beaten a Power 5 school, the Washington Huskies. And the Broncos did not just beat the Huskies, Boise State blew them out by 23.
Boise State has five players averaging eight or more points a game and three players averaging more than five and a half rebounds a game. But it's the Broncos defense that can make you raise an eyebrow or two. BSU is holding their opponents to 37% shooting from the field and 28.5% from behind the arc.
`Runners senior
Aja Williams continues to lead CSUB in points and rebounds. Williams is averaging a little more than 12 points and six plus rebounds a game. Williams helped the `Runners defeat Omaha Monday night by scoring 16 points and grabbing six boards.
After the game in Boise, the `Runners will get a much needed break, before playing their last two non-conference games on Dec. 29 at Cal Poly and on New Year's Eve at home against UC Irvine.
