BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield women's swimming and diving team will travel to Riverside Saturday, Nov. 4, for a meet against Cal Baptist.
"Like the men, the women have been hit with some sickness this week," said
Chris Hansen, CSUB's Director of women's swimming and diving said. "We are trying to get healthy so we can have a great meet. This is a tough team and we are excited for some close races. Then it is time to come home and get ready for the UNLV invite."
The `Runners are coming off a dramatic 152-147 win over Western Athletic Conference rival Idaho. The `Runners needed to win the last swim of the day, the 200 free relay, to win the meet and that is exactly what
Morgan King,
Alisa Cooke,
Taylor Cossu and
Audrey Willoughby did.
Cal Baptist opened the year with a victory at the PCSC relays and a second place finish at the PCSC pentathlon.
The `Runners have been led by sophomores
Maddie Cosgrove and
Jayssie Haynes. Cosgrove and Haynes continue to be consistent and get results for CSUB.
The `Runners defeated Cal Baptist at home last year 176.5-123.5 and CSUB will try to get the same result at Cal Baptist on Saturday.
