`Runners To Finish Road Trip At UCLA

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield men's basketball team is 4-3 in the first month of the season and you might think it is a so-so kind of record. But if you look deeper into the schedule, it is a pretty impressive start.

The `Runners opened the season with a home victory over Whittier College on Nov. 10 and CSUB has not been home since. You could argue the `Runners have the most miles traveled in college basketball this year. CSUB went cross country to Georgia Southern, back across the USA to Arizona, then to Texas before going to Alaska for the GCI Great Alaska Shootout. And it all happened in a twelve-day period.

The `Runners will now finish this epic road trip with a game in Los Angeles against one of the most legendary programs in all of sports, UCLA. UCLA comes into the game with a 5-1 record and are coming off a 24-point home victory over UC Irvine. The Bruins are led by Aaron Holiday's 17 points and 6 assists a game.

The `Runners are led in scoring by Damiyne Durham's 12.3 points a game and the junior put on a show in the 40^th and last edition of the GCI Great Alaska Shootout last weekend. Senior Shon Briggs is showing his versatility and all-around game by averaging 12 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists a game.

This will be the second time this season that the `Runners will have a game broadcast on the PAC-12 Networks. CSUB played at No. 3 Arizona back on Nov. 16 and playing on television is great exposure for Head Coach Rod Barnes and his `Runners squad. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
